Ah wasn't thinking that

just going to try to simplify two rulesets into one for own use

I think the two can mesh smoothly, accomplish same goal, and be simpler

Not to be critical , but I do find some rules here a bit cumbersome. The one for leveling up comes to mind, just so much to accomplish what could be so simply done (in my mind at least).

@Talisinbear: Among the many contributions to the site there is a lot of variety in both mechanics and implementation of said mechanics.  Like you, I have found several mechanics I like but feel they may be overly complex for implementation is Carcassonne.  Not that they aren't well thought out and even balanced, they just seem too specific and involved for my taste.  I'd be interested to see a combined/revised/new ruleset from you on this.  I started my forays into fanmades with the totally new additions type of expansions but have moved more towards those that expand or add to existing expansions.  I like the idea of some element to combat the dragon and would be interested to see your take on it.

I still like the giant

I just think it and the Dragon Slayer expansion could work best as one unit.

Pull a Dragon Slayer tile, place your giant.

After that the giant moves as per giant rules (one space orthgonally a turn)

10 points for slaying dragon

5 points for taking out a rival giant

That's it in my mind

You should do a write up.  I think the template is stickied on the expansion workshop page. This sounds really intriguing.
