Hello to the Forum!
I am new here and new to the game. I have purchased Carcassonne recently and most of the expansion for it (all but the first and mini). I am still digging the rules (for now the base version) and playing only the base game. I am from Finland, and English is not a native language for me, so I have some problems understanding some rules.
I have several questions concerning the basic tile and figure placement in certain situations. I did not found answers from the FAQ, so it seems that these things must be straight enough for all but me
I need your help here, because I am kind of stuck.
Thank you very much in advance for your help. My questions are
Q1. [River II, Pig herd] Rules say "
the pig herd earns the farmer in that field 1 additional per city he feeds, if he scores for any cities".
I did not understood what
that field means here?
field on that tile or
the field containing that tile. In other words: Do you receive this bonus only if you place a farmer
on that tile with pig herd or, alternatively, everybody in the game who's field contains pig herd tile will receive the bonus?
Q2. [Princess and Dragon, using magic portal]Rules say, when using magic portal player "
... must follow all other placement rules" and place a follower "
for example, not on a feature with another follower."
I understood that. But, may I place my follower on the unoccupied feature on the
occupied tile (where follower occupies some other feature) or the tile must be completely empty?
Q3. [Abbey and Mayor, placing barn]Rules say "
Player places his barn at the junction of four field segments" and "
The player may place the barn, even if there are farmers on field segments connected to the place where he places the barn." I understand that, but rules do not mention if farmers are allowed to be on the segment itself or not.
My question is: may I place the barn on the segment where farmers are, or all four tiles of the segment must be free of farmers?
I hope that I managed to state my questions clearly enough
Regards, Eugene
