So I was thinking of making some tiles so I could play with the expansions made here (like forest and stuff), but making the tiles seems way too difficult for me, so instead I was thinking, instead of making the tiles to match the ones I already have, why not make the tiles I already have to match what I was going to make. Basically I was going to find a nice thick paper or use that magnetic paper and just remake the whole game (also this way I won't have to worry about making backs as well). So what i was wondering was, does someone already have the original game and expansions scanned (i.e. what's in the big box), because it'd be a real pain in the ass to go and scan them since I already have them punched out (and I don't really have that nice of a scanner, I mean I still want it to look nice). Sorry if this is against the rules as it surely breaks copyrights and stuff, and if it's not allowed just delete the thread please, or if it's a case of not wanting it public, if someone could pm me that'd be absolutely wonderful.

Thanks for your help  Grin

Making tiles isn't all that difficult.  At least I don't think so as I haven't actually done it yet.  Novelty usually buys extra sets and uses those tiles.  They would already have the backs on them.  You could probably buy some sticker paper and print the tiles on it and then stick them to spare tiles.  One member here is selling blank tiles for a very reasonable rate, but they would be blank on both sides.

Yea I know buying extra sets is a popular option, but if I bought extra sets I'd rather use them to make the game bigger instead of cannibalizing them, and also I'm 16 and don't have a job, I don't really have the money to buy extra sets with. I live in the U.S. so I can't get the blank tiles from HiG either. The blank tiles isn't a bad idea, but it just seems like more work then I'm looking for. I saw someone make a magnetic travel pack and figured going along that route'd be the easiest.

Why don't you buy the original expansion that you don't have to expand your collection first?  There's always Christmas (or insert your december holiday of choice) and Birthdays to get those.

If you would like playing with the custom sets but don't want to fork out the $$ to buy the tiles, I'd suggest printing everything out on paper (or cardboard) and playing it that way.  Where do you find those images?  Well, start at boardgamegeek.com .  Oh, be forewarned that it'll probably take a lot more work and about the same amount of money as buying extra sets.

I have quite a few of the expansions already, but I wanted to play with a custom set. That's essentially what I was going to do, just print it out on paper pretty much (maybe magnetic paper because it's got a nice thickness to it), but then it wouldn't go with the sets I bought, so I figured I'd be best off just printing those out aswell, which is why I asked if anyone already has a scan of the original tiles  Wink.

Oh btw, why do you say it'll be about the same amount of money? It's just printing onto paper and cutting.

Ok I found most of it, except like the king and robber one. The river in the download section is the same as river 1+2 right?

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but the only river tiles I know of on the download page are tiles created by Novelty for his Fishermen expansion.  There are no official tiles anywhere on the site with the exception of the C.A.R. (Completely Annotated Rules) by Matthew Harper.  Actually, that has a scan of every officially released tile in the game, so you could probably get anything you need from that.  The file is located HERE.

Which download section?  The ones here on Carc Central have the fan-made tiles for the Fishermen expansions, and the mehrfluss tiles in the HiG downloads section.  We don't have a complete set of the official tiles here except in the CAR as mentioned by CKorfmann above (which technically also isn't on Carc Central).

No you're right, I was referring to the HiG download section. Is it against policy here to share official releases? I've got pretty much what I need except for the king and river expansions, but I could do without.

BTW, my idea was to do something like this: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/155062

but full size with the expansions and customs

There are scans of every official expansion on Board Game Geek. Finding the best ones takes a little while.

The absolute cheapest solution is to print on color paper and glue to corrugated cardboard. Corrugated cardboard is very easy to come by and most people are trying to get rid of it. Easier to cut with a knife than scissors. (I've ruined a lot of scissors when I was younger cutting up cardboard boxes.) Almost everybody has white paper to print on, so the only snag is whether you have a color printer. Color printing is essentially free because your parents pay for the ink/toner. Glue is also fairly easy to come by. Alternatively you could use tape; clear packing tape would be best but I don't think it's very common in most homes.

If you draw from a bag, it doesn't matter that the backs don't match.
