We recently purchased cathedrals & inns and are wondering what the image of a little green meeple printed of some of the tiles means.

Any help? Huh?

That's just so that you can tell which of the expansions the tile is from. All of the expansions have different symbols on them, at least in the latest editions.

And welcome to the forums!

We only noticed the little "barn" symbol on the tiles that came with our recent addition the "Mayor & Abbey" expansion.  Since all of our other Carcassonne tiles are from earlier releases, they do NOT have any little symbols on one corner and therefore it is nearly impossible to separate them out into their respective sets -- if we would ever want to; however a Divorce Settlement Agreement might someday eventually have to allocate one half of the Carc. tiles to each party (haha;-)

You could buy new sets, or the Big Box and use the old ones to make fan-made expansions.  That way all the new ones would have the watermarks.  They are very handy!
