After much searching I managed to get hold of what appear's to be the last version available on the net of Ark of the Covenant!! Very happy with the purchase... except for the reall crap Ark! A naff plastic stand with a tiny tile to sit in it. I seem to recall seeing something, somewhere here where someone (possibly Joff?) had a more realistic looking Arl to use.... Where is it? Where was it from? Can I have one to please?!  Grin

You will find pictures in this thread: http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/forum/index.php?topic=592.0

I got the ark piece from this ebay seller: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/galactictrading/. The Ark piece is from Monopoly: Indiana Jones Edition. Although the seller does not show the Ark piece in the shops listings, it might be worth e-mailing the seller to see if they can get them still.

The version of Ark that I picked up earlier this year came with a wooden ark, but the Monopoly piece is definitely nicer.

Copies that contain a wooden Ark is a version 2 edition of AotC. The Cardboard tile Ark is from version 1.

Other than the Ark piece, are there any other differences between the two versions? Rule changes?

Played it a couple of days back for the first time. Like it a lot and now understand why you rate it so high Joff. I like the temple placement and scoring rule and Ark adds a bit of interest.

I had a copy with the wooden ark, but when my cousin gives it back (he didn't want it) I will try and trade it for a copy of the cathars (I prefer even vanilla carc to Aotc, so I wouldn't play it anyway)

There are no rule changes between the editions, only rule clarifications.
