While it is certainly not a new concept, I thought I would create a post simply for monitoring eBay (and other) listings for the Cathars (Katharer). While most people can just get the equivalent via Cult, Siege, and Creativity, some completists still want the original (me included). Either way, I thought someone should keep up to date with the latest Katharers for sale. Try to format it with the relevent information such as item number, if it ships worldwide, and what time it closes. It it isn't an auction, put the price too. If anyone knows of any, post them here. eBay: NEU in Folie: Carcassonne - Die Katharer (+ Almanach) – Item 280315325303 (Worldwide shipment, closes March 2 at 13:02 from Germany)BGG: Carcassonne - Die Katharer (Worldwide shipment, $23 USD from USA)BGG: Carcassonne - Die Katharer (Worldwide shipment, €24.95 from Italy)

I really appreciate you posting this info by hand whaley. I had tried to set up an automated ebay auction search widget for relevant carcassonne items on this site as a service to members, but there were so many unrelated results that it became unmanageable and I abandoned the project. I am no ebay expert although I've been using it periodically since its inception. If anyone else here is an ebay whiz, let us know if an automated system like I described is workable.

No problem, Gantry. Of course, I can't be checking forever. Once I get my own copy, I probably will be less inspired. Nonetheless, it is a helpful service. eBay probably doesn't mind. New listing! eBay: Der Carcassonne Almanach : Erweiterung - Die Katharer – Item # 250382577717 (Worldwide: Ships from Germany — Closes 12 March @ 10:04:39 PDT)

Just a quick update. I actually purchased the BBG copy (striked through above) so I now have a copy of the Cathars, although I can't actually receive it until July when I return to the United States from Britain. That being said, I will try to keep on top of this Cathar watch still since it doesn't take too much time out of my day. I'll report on how awesome the tiles (and magazine) are when I return to the US. Cheers!

Besides BGG and eBay, are there any other sources that this may be sold? Is there a German auction site similar to ebay, but not ebay?

Beats me. Craigslist, which wouldn't be a good format for this anyway, is only really popular in America. Almost every country I've been in, though, has an equivalent. The problem is, it is mostly a local service. eBay seems to be the most universal western auction site, although I guess Yahoo still may have some auctions now and then...mostly then. There could definitely be a German version of BGG, though, so that may be something to look into.

Well, I guess we have to use either ebay or BGG for these then. Thanks for volunteering to do the updates! I for one definately appreciate it.

Just one additional note. I compiled the eBay prices for the Katharer for the past three months (hopefully I didn't miss any). The average Katharers price right now is €20.62. The range is €11.05 to €35.50 so there seems to still be a lot of variation. Also, I need to note a new addition: eBay Auction: Carcassonne - die Katharer und Almanach - Zusatzkarten (Ships to Europe only from Germany – Closes on 6 May @ 07:43:11 BST)eBay Auction (Still active!): Der Carcassonne Almanach : Erweiterung - Die Katharer (Ships worldwide from Germany – Closes 8 May @ 14:37:42 PDT)BGG (Still active!): Carcassonne - Die Katharer (Ships worldwide from Germany, €25.00 with cheap shipping inside Germany, EXPENSIVE shipping outside)
