Hi all,

I'm Tobias from Germany. I found this great community yesterday, very nice stuff here... I think there is much to do the next weeks, printing all the expansions and cutting the tiles Wink

I'd like to show you my self made tower, hope you like it ;-)

Great job, certainly keeps everything in order.  I noticed some different tiles in play, are they fan made tiles?

Thanks for all that recognition  Smiley

It was a long and hard work to build that tower. We play it several times a week... Usually we play with 2 basic games, inns, traders, the "normal" cards from mayor and the self made expansion "the lake" which contains 48 tiles you can get here from the german page http://carcassonne-city.de/

Here is the direct link:

http://carcassonne-city.blogspot.com/2007/04/der-see-von-guido-kmmer-und-carsten.html

The delphins are like the heraldics in the city. But because there are less lake tiles than citys we count it different than the autor invented:
Lake with only 2 tiles brings 3 points, lake with more than 2 tiles brings 3 points for every tile, delphins count also 3 points (all if finished). We also use the builder in the lake.

The other fan made expansion is "the forest", but it looks completely different than yours. I bought it on eb*y but the quality was as worst as could be, so I asked the seller for the original files and promised not to distribute it. He mailed me the the file and I scaned the original cards and copied the forest (have you ever done a selection of a forest in photoshop? Cheesy ) into the new scaned cards.

And after that I found this community, now I will rename "my" forest indo rainforest and "your" forest will be "normal forest" Cheesy:D

I'm also working on a traveling edition, here you can see 21x21mm wood-tiles (0.83"). I plan to stick velcro tape on the bottom side and build a woodbox with also velcro tape on the ground. So we can play for example in the plane on the small table or on the beach with 200 tiles Smiley In the upper left corner you can see the meeples which were sticked on small felt-.. things Cheesy So you can interrupt a game and continue it later somewhere else..

EDIT

Tile press/cutter is continued here:

Like the tower and the travel Carcassonne you have certainly done a great job.  I have just about completed a travel version myself using magnetic tiles 2.5mmx2.5mm (1"x1").  I used magnetic Photo paper scanned and reduced the size of the tiles then printed about 15 tiles to each 6x4 sheet.  Works a treat.  Magnetic tile idea was located in bgg forum.

Hi!

I'va also been thinking about magnetic tiles, but I thought that it could be a little bit difficulty geting just one (!) out of the bag and not two or three at one time Cheesy

Here is a picture of the first test on a train trip last week. On the right you can see how we scored the points, but a better way is at work...

And here are some more pictures:

More about that later, but you will like it  Wink

Ok, a small preview..

I think i have to post a little bit in the "how to create..."-thread later Cheesy

Your tile press/cutter - tell me more tell me more must know Grin.

As for the magnetic tiles they don't stick together.  Works a treat.

I still like your tile press/cutter Grin
