I notice that there are a lot of variants that have custom tiles, and I was wondering how you guys go about getting these onto tiles?

I figured the easiest way is to just print them off and paste them onto a tile, but I don't have any extra or spare tiles since I've only got the base game and Inns and Cathedrals at the moment.

If you have any helpful tips or hints or know where to get blank tiles aside from the two or three you get from cult, siege and creativity I would love to know!

Thanks

I currently have chipboard and full page labels sitting next to me, in plans to make the tiles.  I feel that this will be a project for after Christmas, but that's my plan for now.

I know that others have purchased extra sets of the count, river 2, other expansions just for the tiles and they use the labels to get the new images on.

Welcome to Carc Central.  Basically it's what mathguy said Smiley  Either you make it yourself from scratch from chipboard/cardboard, or you paste them over extra tiles that you don't want or think you'll ever need.  Of course, there are 2 tiles in Cult, Siege and Creativity that's completely blank and from where you can do that!

There are a couple of threads that you may find useful:

http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/forum/index.php?topic=89

and

http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/forum/index.php?topic=517

The latter being about using the 2 blank tiles in CS&C.

Some of the variants/expansions require obtaining extra meeples/figures, etc. A thread dealing with that can be found here:

http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/forum/index.php?topic=433.0

and welcome to Carcassonne Central Smiley

As I stated elsewhere you can get a set of 12 blank tiles for 1€ from HiG. See in GENERAL - "PERHAPS A SILLY QUESTION".

yeah, I'm in the US.  Once HiG knew this fact, it seemed like I never got a response, whereas the first time when I didn't mention where I was from they seemed extremely helpful and informative.  Not trying to bash HiG, but the US isn't their realm for Carc.  Now if only Rio would publish a set of blank tiles.
