Sorry guys. This question may seem a little dumb, but... how do we erase posts. I see no delete button!...

You could always send a PM to one of the moderators - and we will decide if the post(s) in question will be deleted.

You can only delete your own posts (but if you started the thread, deleting that post will delete the thread).

On your post, look to the top right corner of the post.  You will see "Quote, Modify, Remove".  Clicking on "Remove" deletes the post.

Thanks, Novelty, but I can't see the "REMOVE" anywhere...

Oh, sorry then.  I guess only Authors can remove their own posts.  You will have to PM a mod to ask them to remove it (or use the "Report to moderator" link at the bottom of the post)

I dont think that the "remove" option is solely for Authors. I will doule check with Gantry or Matt for clarification if any of you should or shouldnt have it as an option.

Thanks for checking Steve.  Perhaps it's a default setting of the software that non-Authors don't get the "remove" option and Gantry didn't realise that it was so because he's not an ordinary user.  Matt might be able to rectify it as well, but I think he'll wait for Gantry's answer as well.

I would say that most forums only allow users to remove a post if there has been no replies to it.

That's logical but somewhat unefficient.

Hi folks!  Sorry for the long delay.  Yes, I decided to prevent people from deleting posts back when the site started. At the time, it wasn't an issue. You can of course edit the post and remove the content if need be.  I just didn't want people to be removing stuff willy nilly.

Anyhow, you can PM a moderator or myself and we can remove a post if you like.

cheers

I can't remove the content. This forum doesn't seem to like the void.

Okay, I will review the forum permissions.  What forum is your post in?

Just type in "Content removed" or a period "." to blank a post.  It usually works.
