I was seaching for images for trade tokens when I came upon this variant.  It's created by a guy called Jonathan Wu (maulei on BGG).  I think it's quite good.  Has anyone played with it?

Also, I was wondering if Joff has the rules setup in his nice format  Grin Grin Grin

I also sent the guy an email to invite him here...

Yeah, Fruit Traders is on the top of my list, right there with Forests, to print out once I get the Carcassonne Tile Printing Line in working order.

I really love this expansion, just feeling a bit partial about the pineapple.
I'd replace them by Cavaillons or oranges or something more typically french.

plays with all official expansions + Gold Mines,Jousting tournament, Lavendar fields, Forests (partial), The orders of Chivalry, In the stocks, The gallows, archery tournament, the outpost, apothecaries and tithes, wells, wheatfields, grim reaple, Market commons and a lot of other german expansions.

You know, I've thought long and hard about replacing the pineapple when I print my set out (I know...only a gamer would expend any brain power on such a thing :Smiley ), but I finally decided to keep Maulei's original fruit because it's just so... out of place that it's actually quite whimsical.

Besides, I plan to sneak a few apples into the forest (as simply more Fruit Trader tokens) and I liked the symmetry of pineapples and apples.

Oooh, the poisoned apple tree!  Then we can have Adam and Eve and the Serpent, Snow White and the Wicked Witch and all sorts of fun with a new expansion.  Cappy you should really make that as a variant!  Let me know if you need me to help out with the tiles Smiley

I was debating whether to post this link, because it sort of competes with Fruit Trader, but I think to leave it out of the discussion would not be good either.

Well, if your concern is originality, the author has admitted that his expansion was inspired from mine.

Yes, I was aware. The talk about alternative fruits made me think of it.

Maulei, I'm curious: why did you create the mechanic that allows a player to immediately trade away his pineapple token for another trade token? Not that it's a bad rule, I was just wondering what your thoughts behind it were.

I'm wondering if it might not be useful to apply such a house rule to all trade goods.

Maulei, I sent you a private message regarding this game, just in case you haven't already seen it yet.

Edit: Maulei's expansion page, rules and download.

And here's the rules updated for CC with the permission of Maulei!  If there's nothing by Sunday, I'll package this up for downloads on the completed expansions page!
