HELP!  Solve our debate... when making a circle with 4 tiles, 1 tile a lake with 1 fish and 2 outlets (segments), the other 3 tiles just curved river, is this 5 or 6 points?

I believe it's 6: 1 point for each of the 3 tiles with the curved river, 1 point for the fish, and 2 points for each river segment coming out of that lake in two different directions.  Another believes it's only 1 point for the 2 segments coming out of different sides of the lake, since they're both on the same tile.  HELP!

according to the rules "a player with the only fisherman on a completed river scores 1 point for each river segment and 1 point for each fish in the lakes"

so each river segment is 1 point and the fish is 1 point. in the situation as you write it then it would be 6 points. I think this is where you have rule differences between Carcassonne (main game) and Hunters and Gathers. Where in Carcassonne you only count the tiles in a road but you count the segments in a river in Hunters. this is how I understand the rules to be but I could be wrong.

You might want to take a picture of the tiles in the situation that you had and that should help with the visual.

Neither do I, but the rules are available from the RGG web site, so there's no excuse!

From the rules: "A player with the only fisherman on a completed river scores 1 point for each river segment and 1 point for each
fish in the lakes (if any) at the ends of the river."

Based on your description of the situation, I believe you are correct that it is six points.

ohh well, it looks like I am going to be able to introduce carcassonne to a group of people tonight at a friends house... about 5 new people who never played but want to try it are coming over!
