Interesting event occurred during our last game. Two separate roads, each with a wagon. Tile placed, joined and closed two said roads. One end of road attached to unfinished, unoccupied castle. Can one/both/pecking order of which wagon can move to open castle?

Thanks,

If the player who played the tile that completed the road owns a wagon on that road, then he is entitled to move his wagon into the unfinished, unoccupied city first, as it is his turn. The other wagon owner will have second choice of where his wagon moves to, but in this case he can't move into the city if the other wagon has claimed it first.

The official rule is: "If several wagons are involved in scoring, then each player decides whether to retrieve or move his or her wagon, beginning with the player whose turn it is and continuing clockwise."

Just read your post again. You said that a tile was placed that closed two seperate roads, each containing a wagon. One end of a road attached to an incomplete, unoccupied city. The question was asked as to which wagon could enter the city.

In this case only the wagon that was on the road that ended in the incomplete, unoccupied city would be able to enter, as the other road would not end in the incomplete, unoccupied city, it would end with a now completed road (unless there was some pretty nifty tile laying involved).

In all cases though the wagon would move in accordance to the official rule posted above. Smiley

Thanks much. So it's turn order. Got it. Good point on the clarification - fyi - the two roads in question became one continuous closed road. The person laying the tile did not own either wagon, so it's turn order of moving wagons.

This brings up another question if you will. This move created scoring for two players, but not the person laying the tile. Can that person now put two followers into the City, one for each of the players he helped score?

No, just one follower can be placed by this player and only onto the tile that has just been laid by him.

By the way, welcome to the CC forums. Smiley

It has just occured to me that the City you might be talking about here is 'The Count of Carcassonne'. Let us know if this is the case. If so, I will once again leave that to 'The Count' experts! Wink

Welcome to the forum Kieth,

I think that the rules are pretty clear on this one:

In the CAR Version 5.0 it says:

Quote
Whenever a city, road or cloister is completed in which at least one player scores points, but the player placing the final tile does not, this player may deploy one follower from their supply to a city quarter of their choice.

Since it says "at least one player" then it seems to me to imply that only the "one follower" is allowed even if there are more than one scoring players.
