Cry  Okay folks, In order to track down a copy of The Cathars, I've scoured the internet, emailed every internet game shop, tried to read German on the Spielbox website (that was a vain attempt), and any other method you could think of.  The Carcassonne 'completist' in me has 'almost' decided to give up (I never will though  Wink ).  Is there any way to get a copy of these four crazy tiles???  That stinks that they are no longer available.  Anyway, if anyone has an extra copy and will trade (for GQ #11 expansion) or has a way of obtaining this expansion, please email me at rbowell@gbim.org or share with the whole group.  I'm all ears.  It seems like Knucklebones won't be releasing The Cathars expansion as earlier reported.

I know someone at BGG has a copy for sale for about $30 but I'm not interested at that price.

desperate,

Funny you should post this, I was thinking the same thing, however I'll trade two GQ#11 expansions and a brand new left sock for it!

Spielbox will eventually reprint them. Probably as part of some new "Carcassonne Almanac" or something. The refused to share with Jay because they wanted it exclusively.

I cannot make any promises ... but a friend of my girlfriend in Cologne runs a really small game shop and that is where I purchased my Cathars (as well as most of my expansions) last year.  I will have her look if they have any copies left for sale and let those who are interested know and can go from there ...

We're all interested! Smiley

I'd pay up to $5 per set. I have a lot of friends who would like to get their hands on it.

I just purchased a copy of the Carcassonne Almanach, which comes with Die Katherer, from www.spielerei.at for 5 euros.  Shipping was about 8 euros.

Thier website says they still have it in stock.  Someone there (Pia, if I remember correctly) does speak english and is fairly helpful.  I would recommend emailing them to do the purchase, as I don't think their website is set up for international transactions.

I also saw a copy recently at www.robbirob.com - not sure if he still has it.  Robert speaks english and has excellent customer service.

No pushing, no shoving, form an orderly line....  Grin

Be forwarned - the last auction I saw for an Almanach with the expansion went for about $70 USD  Shocked

Ahhh, my moment of glory...  Wink

It took me quite a bit of searching to track down the Cathars, so I know how you all feel.  I don't think I've ever gone that many pages deep into google searches before!  The trick was to search for the Almanach (not the expansion) and scour every German online game store I could find.

Amazing what we'll go through for 4 little tiles, ain't it!!!

That's how I got hold of my copy. There was an order form on the site, but they dropped that part. Sounds promising that you got one there as well after they'd taken it off though.

It might be the smallest expansion but those 4 tiles can make for a very different game and are well worth searching for. The Almanach is aslo a reasonable read, although there's nothing that new or unknown in it now.

I just ordered mine today from that same site, www.spielerei.at.  I just wrote a simple email asking if I could purchase the Carcassonne Almanach (including Die Katharer) if I lived in the United States.  Pia wrote back to me immediately, super-politely, saying no problem, and I could pay either with a credit card, Paypal, or bank transfer.  I payed by Paypal to the same email address, and the total cost was something like 13.85 in Euros, which was about $19.96 American, something like that.  The whole process was very smooth.  You might think that's a lot to pay, but I don't mind paying the extra $10-$12 to spare me the months and months of searching.  So, anyone else who wants it for less than $20, it's as easy as pie.  Thanks for the recommendation!

Yep, that was my experience too.  It did take a while to arrive, maybe a couple of weeks or so...  maybe that's not so bad, but to an overgrown kid like me, it seemed like FOREVER!  Smiley
