Based on the discussions in the
Moated City of Carcassonne topic, I drew up
this.
It doesn't have the moat around the city part, but it does have features for use with the other types of followers. Since the Cathedral in the Original was intended to be used for monks, I tried to take an element that would have similar effects on other types of followers. For example, the Roman Temple works just like a cathedral does, but for heretics - if a city with a Temple isn't completed by end of game a knight would get no points. Same for the logging camp in the forest (upper left).
I added some slum/ghetto houses for the thief - it never made sense to me that a thief would be hanging around a blacksmithy. I added a small little castle wall to the interior of the "manor" (tile 3) to make it look more like a Castle, which is what the rules call it.
The red tower in the upper right-hand corner is intended for possible use with placing meeples on tower foundations.
I intend to use the blacksmith's as a jumping point for mountain followers, as to me it makes sense that miners would sell their iron ore to the person who could use it - the blacksmith.
I couldn't make anything work to use as a fish market, so I put a lake closer to the regular market, since the Fishermen rules state that's where the followers should be deployed from.
I also added the stalls from the bazaar tiles to the market for a punch of color. Same reason I changed the color of the cathedral roof tiles.
I also have a version that I've colored. This serves 2 purposes: it clearly marks the separate farm segments and defines which ones touch the City of Carcassonne (those with black outlines), and it highlights the various areas of the city that followers can be placed in for later deployment. That can be found
here.
I plan on creating a variant on this one to use with the Barbarian Horde expansion, but I have no idea when I'll get to it.
