Dear Carcassonne fans,

Today we announced the development of Carcassonne for Android and J2ME mobile phones. Please find below the full news release:

exozet develops Android and J2ME version of board game classic Carcassonne

The award winning tile-based board game Carcassonne makes its debut on the mobile phone. Developed by exozet games, Carcassonne for Android, Java and BlackBerry devices will be launched in the second quarter of 2011. The beta programme is starting immediately: Fans can now apply to test Carcassonne before its actual release.
The legendary game, created by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede, was inspired by the southern French city of Carcassonne because of its unique roman and medieval fortifications. Just like in the original board game up to five players team up to develop the area around Carcassonne and deploy their follower pieces on the roads, in the cities, in the cloisters, and in the fields. The skill of the players to develop the area will determine who is victorious.

The game includes the official expansion "The River II", which brings along additional features and strategic opportunities.

Carcassonne received the German "Game of the Year" award as well as the "Deutscher Spielepreis" when published in 2001. The game has spawned many expansions and several PC and console versions.

Fans can now test the beta version of Carcassonne!

I am only willing to provide the following for your testing.  Phone Model, OS Version, email address for correspondence and primary language.  Anything else I consider to be personal information and not needed since I would not be a paid employee or under a non-disclosure agreement.

Bit of a background on myself in hopes you will remove the extra requirements and allow me to be part of the beta testing.

28 years as a software developer, project manager, system analyst and electronics technician.
3 years of experience playing Carcassonne with an average of 20 games a month.
Own every version of Carcassonne along with almost every expansion.
I use a Motorola Droid A855 daily with ability to test the program under Android OS versions 2.2.x Froyo or 2.3.3 Gingerbread, which has not been released to the public.
I have the ability to test under very strict conditions including controlling the CPU frequency range, memory foot print and background applications.
I have daily access to a Motorola Droid X running the stock Android OS 2.2.

I have a very good understanding of the Android OS due to my research in Over/Under Clocking and OS tweaking to prolong battery life.  I have over 120 hours of documented testing published in the Android Community. See http://www.droidforums.net/forum/rescue-squad-guides/47871-overclocking-101-a.html and here is a recent technical answer I gave on the subject http://www.droidforums.net/forum/raidzero/132970-10-slot-kernel.html#post1377889

I have a very good understanding of the programming requirements needed for Carcassonne and created a simplified turn based summary to handle game play. See http://carcassonnecentral.com/forum/index.php?topic=1017.msg16979#msg16979
