New and seeking direction

Hi all

New to the Cult of Carcassonne LOL

Was looking at the home build ideas.

A few questions come to mind.

I like the sheep idea since you can actually but 'sheeples' I can't believe I typed that LOL

So anyone do an expansion around a cattle theme?

Also of the dozens of fan ideas, are any 'generally accepted"

I like the forest idea although 150 tiles seeming wildly large (twice a base set)

Mountains/mines looks good too.

The river/fishing I  have to study more to get head around.

any guidance welcome.

Welcome to the site.  Glad to help answer your questions.  I can only speak for myself and my own experience, but it seems that the most "generally accepted" expansions would probably be Joff's Medieval expansions.  I made those along with Scott's Lord of the Manor expansion.  It seems as though many people also play with the Forest expansion, or at least part of it, especially since it's probably the oldest one here.

The majority of the expansions that I've made to use are the ones that I've had a hand in.  I can say that I really enjoy playing with the King's Gate and the Missionary.  The Shepherds expansion was very tedious to make, but I'm very glad I did so and I also enjoy playing with it.  Some others I enjoy and typically use are the Colosseum, and some of the bridges from the mathguy expansions.  I hope to finish and use the Families expansion soon.
