...BGG.CON continues to be a gaming Highlight
...BixCON II was a hit and we are now prepping for BixCON III
...Many new games were played this year. Quite a number of them were on my really want to try list.
...Bixby's Formula De League Season II is done and we are well into Season III
...We are part way through 1st year of Wings of War League
...We are setting up a Twilight Struggle League in Regina.
...The www.saskgames.com website is growing steadily and becoming a vital tool to help gamers connect in the Province of Saskatchewan. Lots of public and private gatherings.

I feel incredibly lucky that my lovely wife enjoys games and we have a wonderful circle of friends that enjoy games as well.

"Life is short; play games."

Happy new year to all of you. May 2011 be filled with the joy of play and the opportunity to share that with those you hold dear.

I have only ever played 17 of your 143 games you tried last year (though there are many on that list I want to try and many others I play that I don't see here).  That would be some interesting numbers to keep track of this new year.

Thanks for sharing Bixby.

Guess I'm weak...lol...

Before Gen-Con, we played Munchkin and Munchkin Quest and had the first Dominion. I picked up all the other Dominion sets throughout the spring.
Grabbed Zombie Dice and Cthulhu Dice too.  Did play a couple of Battletech rounds too.

At Gen-Con, I knabbed Carcassonne and I haven't looked back; have all the sets now.

So, I'm kicking it at a whopping seven games...ahahahahaha....

I will say that I try to limit my purchases to games that two people can play by themselves because we often have scheduling conflicts and there is only two of us.  We all enjoy two player games of Dominion and Carc.

I decided to start a list for 2011 recording plays and game names. Also, I plan to note the use of expansions when applicable (Small World, for example, I won't note if I play using Cursed! or The Grand Dames since they are fully-integratable expansions).

Christmas and this time of year, however, has been a score-fest. I got Small World on Black Friday, scored Small World: Necromancer a week later and nabbed Cursed! and The Grand Dames this afternoon. I gave my girlfriend the Alhambra Big Box for Christmas and we have yet to try even one of the five (x4) expansions in the set. I also got her Zooloretto for our anniversary coming up in a few weeks. Add to that Agricola: The Goodies Expansion, The Gamers' Deck and The Legen*dairy Forest Deck that came in the mail last week, none of which I have had a chance to play (or my girlfriend knows about). I picked up Carcassonne: Bridges, Castles & Bazaars, Crop Circles, and the Plague over the past five months and all have seen a few plays. Finally, I should be getting in the next few weeks a lot from a friend in Germany who hooked me up with Catan Geographies: Bavaria, Austria, and Delmarva and Catan: The Chocolate Market (Schokoladenmarkt). Ah, 'tis the season to be gaming!

Goals for 2011: Get any and all new Carcassonne expansions released in 2011, get Aquaretto if Zooloretto proves to be fun enough to expand/spin-off, get Catan: Schätze, Drachen & Entdecker and Saggsen Gaden, get The Rivals for Catan, get any and all Agricola expansions released in 2011, get Smallworld: Be Not Afraid... and Tales & Legends (as well as any new expansions released in 2011), and get Dominion: Prosperity (and any 2011 expansion released). Anything I'm missing?

lol. For being a founding member and moderator of Carcassonne Central, Tobias, you'd think you'd play Carcassonne more than 10 times in a year.

All the Expansions sort of killed it for us. But here is the statistics anyway:

6 Carcassonne
5 The Kids of Carcassonne
2 The Ark of the Covenant
2 Carcassonne: Hunters and Gatherers
2 Carcassonne: The Castle
2 Carcassonne: The City
1 Carcassonne: The Discovery
1 New World: A Carcassonne Game

All in all 21 games of Carcassonne. Smiley

None; I have not bought it yet. Not sure I will. It makes me rather irate that they make these kinds of releases (the crop circles are another example) where they add new stuff to old stuff in a package. It is like spitting their fans in the face.
