RGG will be releasing a combined expansion of The Tunnel and Crop Circles sometime in Fall 2010, but they haven't said when yet.

Hopefully that is it, and that they never release anything else. Carcassonne already has a ridiculous amount of expansions.

Any idea if Crop Circles and Tunnel are going to be a full size expansion or just bolted together in a mini box?
Are they likely to add something else in with it?
Those two sound OK, but can't say I've been to excited with Carcassonne expansions of late: Catapult was naff and childish. Wheel of Fortune was really an evolution of the base set (and a rip off from a collectors point of view) Bridges etc just seems odd and uninteresting.
It seems to have lost it's way. I still play the original and early expansions but it's now time to move on.

While I agree that Catapult and WoF were under par for the series, I think the Bridges, Castles, and Bazaars was a pretty decent expansion, and certainly much better than the other recent attempts. I think that they'll get it back on track. I want more expansions, especially if they start looking for fan made expansions such as the ones on this site.

I have to agree with vagabondriot.
The bridges work very well. The castles are good too ..... it's just the bazaars I'm not playing with, but that's only because most of our games are 2 player and in a 2 player game, the bazaars do not work as good as in a 4 or 5 player game.
Actually I also think that WoF is a decent addition. Especially for new players I'd advise them to buy WoF instead of the regular base set. It's basically the base set with a free expansion included (which you don't necessarily need to play with).

I believe Jay implied that they would be bolted together in a mini box a là Cult, War & Creativity. Jay has yet to go the distance to make a full-sized expansion separate from official Hans im Glück expansions (although he has skipped one that HiG made). Are they likely to add something else in with it?
Crop Circles is 6 tiles, Tunnels is 4 with twelve chips. If RGG can somehow cram all of those onto one printing sheet, I doubt there will be any additional tiles with the expansion. Also, since HiG doesn't have any other non-US available tiles, I doubt Jay would be bold enough to print something that isn't available in Germany. Those two sound OK, but can't say I've been to excited with Carcassonne expansions of late: Catapult was naff and childish. Wheel of Fortune was really an evolution of the base set (and a rip off from a collectors point of view) Bridges etc just seems odd and uninteresting.

I disagree somewhat. Sure Catapult was a failure of an expansion (and "dexterity" is hardly even required with that expansion since the physical catapult sucks) but Wheel of Fortune added a fun little element that doesn't really take away from the game and BC&B is a fairly solid, albeit unrelated, expansion. Sure it sucked that WoF required a re-purchase of the base game, but remember it was meant as more of a promotional boxed set in Germany to be sold with the book of the same name. We didn't get the book in English, so it wasn't as interesting. I agree with Sekim that Bridges have added some interesting aspects to Carcassonne and the Castles, even though they are badly implemented, finally spice up those 4-point cities. I also agree that Bazaars stink for 2-player games so I'm not really a fan of those, or their graphics. Regardless, I think BC&B as well as Crop Circles and Tunnels show a progression away from stupid expansions and back toward decent ones for Carcassonne.

We like WoF because it adds quite a bit of pieces without much consequence (such as towers, princesses, catapult pieces, or bazaars,) to a game of Mega Carc. Without all of these extra "basic" pieces, there is a lot going on too quickly in a huge game. It may not be too creative of an expansion, but it is decent. My only issue with it is that the pig always lands on the same final space (Fortune, I believe, but I may be mistaken), so one can always play a spare meeple on that space knowing that there will be guaranteed points there.

The thing with the pig landing always on the final spot can be easily changed with a little bit of preparation before play. Take all the tiles with the WoF numbers, mix them up, take 1 out of play and put it unseen back in the box.

nice, what a good round table!!! asaik, the catapult is an insult to my intelligence, this sucks real bad... WoF is nothing but under par... the only bad point is that is just gives points here and there, witch overlenght the game... this was the expansion who makes me think about a set point limit to end the game since bridge castle bazaards, what will be released?
You're a bazaard. i sure does!! this last expansion is real good, every add on is useful/pretty cool and creative i don't know what is crop circles, bur the tunnels have to be fixed(the rules)... a mini box will be just ok, not much is just ok...

My impression is that Tunnels and Crop Circles will com out in a mini set. I talked to Jay a little bit and he seemed to imply that was the case. That makes 10 tiles and leaves 2 empty from a full sheet. Perhaps he'll include the Creativity tiles again. I hope not though. I offered him The King's Gate for the two spots. Not sure if he/they will bite. Never hurts to ask though.
I like the castles and bridges from the new expansion. I'm not too interested in trying the bazaar though. Seems kinds pointless.

I suspect that those two "extra" tiles will be used for the tunnel tokens. And bazaars aren't any good in a 2 player game, but they have provided some interesting situations in 5 or 6 player games we have played. We often have to compete for the same piece so bidding gets strategic rather than pointless. Bazaars were definitely designed with large games in mind. My biggest complaint with the bazaar is the ugliness of the piece, a la Catapult.

OK, I may have been a bit quick to judge and unfair regards Bridges... it just followed a few bad ones I guess. I've not got it as yet, so may have to reconsider.
I stand by what I said regards Catapult - Just such a disappointment!!
Wheel of Fortune is good. But what I said was that from a Collector's perspective it's a rip-off. If you've already got the base set... so that's all of us here I guess, you have to buy the whole thing just to gain the wheel and a new pig. The idea is good, but not the implementation.
