Hello everyone,
Once again an apology for the length of time it took to get the forums up and running. I'd not be surprised if we've lost a huge number of members in the meantime. Without a doubt people are curious as to why it has taken so long to fix, but more importantly what we will be doing to make sure it does not happen again.
On a personal side, many of you know that my wife has been facing a terrible and deadly brain cancer. It has been 17 months since diagnosis and she is defying the odds and is, overall, stable. Taking care of her full time and the household while trying to maintain my business has been an enormous challenge. Despite our good health care here in Canada, not everything is covered including her extremely expensive cancer drugs. My focus clearly has been to care for her while maintaining an income to keep her alive. I've heard of many stories of families with a cancer stricken family member, who eventually succumbs to their disease while the family is left in financial ruin. Chances are your family or friends may be in this situation. As a public service announcement, please please give to your local cancer agency! For me, a good many non-priority things had to be sacrificed, unfortunately Carc Central was one of them. I'm finally at a place where I have a bit more time again while she is stable. I've really missed you guys & gals!
How do we prevent the site & forums from this happening again? I've decided that I'm not doing anyone any favours by continuing to maintain this site, so I'm passing ownership & responsibility along to Matt, who has been co-owner all along. This process will take a bit of time, and hopefully Matt will also have a backup plan in case he is unable to carry on with the site.
Please note that I'll not be participating in Carc gaming discussion, but for the time being will have to be solely focused on administrative tasks including the transfer of the site to Matt.
cheers

Gantry, best of luck to your wife. I hope she stays stable. You made the right choice. Thank you for taking the time to fix the forums, I really appreciate it! Hello to everyone else! I made most of the ocean tiles, but am stuck on the Delta ones. Maybe I'll finish them now.

Thanks for the well wishes all, by the way, this weekend there have been some site errors, this is a problem with a host ISP not the site, they're working on it.

I had a feeling this was the reason for the extended downtime, and that's what made me really worried. Glad to hear that she is stable.
Thanks to novelty for letting me the forums were back up, though I was checking every few weeks. (hadn't completely given up hope)
