Other Carcs

Played the City and the Discovery this weekend. Loved the City; hated the Discovery and will probably not play it again. Anyone care to weigh in on these or other variations not expansions?

I've heard good things about the City, what is it about Discovery you don't like?

I guess I didn't like the actual mechanism of the tile placement and scoring;and yes I know it's designed that way to be a strategic shift from standard Carc, but it was a detraction for me and my opponent, both. Neither of us liked it very much at all. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you were getting it free or cheap. :P

Hi, this is my first post here, just joined today.

I got the Discovery a couple of months back. A group of us play the games at lunchtime in the office. First time we played it, all thought the same as you - Looks like Carcassonne, but has a different and weird feel to it. My advice, play a few more games, ideally with three or four players. I think you will change your mind about it. Just takes a while to get used to.
