Looked into this. At the time of writing, jputt927 has actually 29 posts, but 28 of them are in the Expansions Workshop. It turns out that several of the boards in that section had post counting disabled, which neatly explains the discrepancy here. Not sure why that was, but I've activated it now anyway.

What I don't know is whether old posts made will now be added to the user's displayed total, or only new posts. You can always check how many posts you 'really' have by checking under the 'Show Posts' section of your profile...

Thank you Matt!  I thought it was just a random bug, but it isn't.

I keep noticing that my posts go up approximately 1/2 times, but it *seems* to be fixed now...

Yeah, I think that was the problem - and it was easy to figure out from jputt927's account (thanks Grin). But so far it seems the count won't be corrected automatically, and I couldn't see a way to do it manually - which would be a huge pain anyway. On the other hand, it means most people's status will be wrong as well, and of course some will be affected more than others. I'll see what I can do, but I guess this might be a task for Gantry...

No worries Matt.  It's not the size of the post count that counts Wink

Not sure if I'm reading this right.  If I add up what I see, I should have 386 and I only show 189.

Your 200-odd posts in the Expansion forums was not recorded in the post total to your left.  That was the error that Matt has just recently fixed, but it's not retroactive.  Posts made now in the Expansion forums will count towards that total, but not posts made before the fix.

Yes, that's exactly the problem, and I can't see a way to fix it. I did adjust the number of posts required for each status level slightly, though: under the old system, a Freeman needed 250 posts and a Vassal needed 750, and I've lowered Vassal to need 500 - which is more consistent anyway, the next dozen levels all require and increase of 250 as well. At the same time I raised the requirement for Cottager from 20 to 25 for the sake of consistency.

None of which will bring back the missing post count, but at least it might boost the status level of some users... I'll keep looking for a better solution.

Edit: Solved!

Okay, the solution has been found.  Group huggle

Profile > Account Related Settings > Posts. I've just gone through everyone with at least one post listed on the main members page and corrected all the post numbers. Dull work, I can tell you. Grin But everyone should have the correct post count now - if not, please let me know.

Also, I decided to mess about with the status levels a bit more in order to reflect the actual user distribution here on the site. So the levels now require increasing amounts to progress, starting with just 10, then 15, and ultimately 800 odd posts. That should mean that users progress quicker to begin with, while better representing those who are particularly active. It's easy enough to change again latter, in any case.

Yeah, the post range for Count is now 250-400 posts, while the old range for Villein was 250-750 (!) That meant most active users were stuck in Villein for ages... Maybe I'll start a new thread explaining what I've done...

Can I ask people to keep an eye out for anyone whose post count is 0 but obviously shouldn't be. I corrected everybody (I hope) who was listed as having at least one post, but anyone who made a single post in the variants section would have fallen through.

I've just found one myself - if you spot anyone, please let me know.

Cheers.
