so, what are you reading guys??
1st, i'm not a great reader, but when a story pick my curiosity, i get to the very bottom line.
-Les Chevaliers d'Émeraude(The Knights of Emerald)
-Nightwatch/Daywatch...(a real piece of art, by an Russian author)
-Tolkien(LotR)
-Lovecraft(soon the Cthulhu trilogy)
-L'Inspecteur Specteur "Inspector Spector"(a comedy book by an Qc author, a real jewel of absurd!!)
-Twilight(yes i'll be mezmerize!! soon to read too)

Literature is one of the things I work with, so I read a lot (not as much fiction as I would like though). For fantasy I enjoy George RR Martin, Stephen R Donaldson, Mervyn Peake and Philip Pullman. For other genres I enjoy the works of Neal Stephenson, Jonathan Swift, Isaac Asimov, John Steinbeck and many many more. For true classics one should read the works of Edgar Allan Poe, James Joyce, Julio Cortázar and Laurence Sterne. Well, enough name dropping for today  |

I'm working my way through Ian Fleming's James Bond series of books (in order of publication, currently on Dr. No). They are quite different from the movies and very worth the read if you're a fan.

I'm currently in the middle of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series (book 10) and The Dreaming Void (which is one of the best scifi I've read in a while).

I don't read fiction, prefer factual based works.
I have just finished 'Gods War on Terror' by Walid Shoebat and Joel Richardson. An excellent read.

Currently reading Dune...
Big fan of Robert Rankin and Salman Rushdie... Enjoyed His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, love/hate thing with LOTR.

My favourite novel is Raymond E Feist's Magician.
I've read all the Dan Brown books (Angels & Demons is the best one), they in turn led me to Kate Mosse's Labyrinth which is vastly superior to the Brown books - I've read it twice now and will again. That said her second novel Sepulchra is really hard going, I've still not reached the end.
Currently have Sam Bourne's Last Testament on the go after really enjoying The Righteous Men.
I'm also half way through Jeremy Clarkson's The World According to (First One) - Easy reading rants, love it!!

But the later ones were starting to get to be a case of more of the same so I moved on. One other of his does deserve a special mention, his only non Sword and Sorcery novel: Fairie Tale, sheer brilliance. Read that at least four times and recomend it to all. |

Well, that's the thing about that particular trilogy, it was different
Conclave of Shadows
* Talon of the Silver Hawk (2003)
* King of Foxes (2004)
* Exile's Return (2005)
Those are the 3 books in the trilogy. I strongly recommend this trilogy if you do like Feist.

I just started Shadowplay by Californian Tad Williams. I don't remember much of ths story since I read Shadowmarch almost 5 years ago. I think Tad Williams is great with the fantasy genre (better than George RR Martin IMO!). I can't wait to get back into the book.

If you like the Dan Brown genre of history+adventure+fiction....I strongly recommend any/all books by Steve Berry: The Amber Room The Romanov Prophecy The Third Secret The Templar Legacy The Alexandria Link The Venetian Betrayal I've read them all. Real page turners.....and I have a hard time putting them down! http://www.steveberry.org/berry-books.htm!! I just noticed he's got a new book out !! But I insist on waiting to buy the soft cover....oh well  I also recommend anything by James Rollins (The Last Oracle, The Judas Strain, Map of Bones, Black Order....there are more, and I've read them all) And finally, another batch of page turners, two authors that write together: Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child - Together they have written 12 books (of which I've read 11) and another 16 or so between them. My favorites are the 'Pendergast & D'Agosta' series about an FBI agent and NY cop who work together to solve crimes. Currently I'm reading Kate Mosse - Labyrinth. I just started it a few days ago. I've had it for over 2 years now but just not got around to reading it...til now  |
