Look on the bright side, this isn't going to be an expansion.  It's just a spin-off.

13 man on the field IS a penalty!!!!!(10 yards, automatic 1st down)

A match can never be ended on a defensive penalty!!!

What's wrong with a Spin-off, Joff?  You have Ark of the Covenant!

I will probably not buy it as well as it is a stand-alone game and not an expansion.

Stand alone games are great, but not this one by the sounds of it.  My kids are great Carcassonne players and will be bored with this one I think.

There's no "if"s about it.  It is definately not an expansion as the rules say that the game is won when all the meeples are placed.

Look, this is fairly simple stuff.... It's a stand alone game that's been created for young kids. It's not meant to be bought by 'carcassonne fans' or 'Gamers'.

The fact is that if you reduce Carcassonne to a basic level it is a matching game and therefore, at that simplistic level, ideal for very young children. Then if you aim a game at very young children it has to have a simple look and appeal with bold colours. HiG have seen a market and acted upon it. I have no problem with that. I won't be buying it simply for all those reasons: It's not made for me and I don't have children that fall in the age bracket.

Totally different to the somewhat ill conceived Catapult. Get over it!

Wishmaster is right. We can't compare it to the Catapult. It's like Carcassonne and Kinder von Carcassone were two different games. Carc is made for everyone and KvC is made for children. Anyway, who never played a children game with their or someonelse's kids? Sometimes I do. Who never played football with a kid? Or do you only play football with grown-ups? My DAUGHTER is 6yo and likes better to play football than with her dolls and I do play with her football and with her dolls. Maybe you'll think I'm crazy, but playing kids stuff is good for our mental health and to relieve some stress! I think I'll buy it because I have a daughter who likes Carc and because I collect all sort of Carcs. Smiley I haven't looked through the rules yet, but I suppose it's a children's must!

BGG is really irritating me. I submitted this game and it was rejected, just like they rejected my submission of Catapult when it was announced.

This has also happened to me a few times... it's really quite annoying!

I did that a week ago and it was rejected earlier this week.  Oh well, at least I tried.
