(I really hope she'll never get her own account here, it'll hurt really bad Wink )

Last night we played The Castle. None of us really likes it, but we take it out now and then to have a go at it. It was the first game of the siblings I bought before I knew the differences really. I played original C with an ex girlfriend but Castle was cheaper so I bought that instead Smiley

Anyway, to the game:

It started off pretty well for me, I got to the first two wall tiles by tactics alone - I played a bent road next to a corner so I could get a single point in order to take the first WT for example. Sara started to build on her house, since that usually generates a lot of points. And for once I let her - I only built two houses I think, and one of those was an one-pointer.

I had a lot of luck with drawing market tiles and could place them next to my already occupied courts. I also could build so that I merged a meaningless tile to Sara's big court - rendering it pointless for both of us, which hurt her a lot more than me. I concentrated on building a big tower, and it yielded 26 points when it was finished - I also built a smaller 12 poinst worth of unfinished tower because I had that WT.

Since the only thing that needs to be connected are roads, City actually plays quite differently from both C and H&G. You don't have to match tiles, and it takes a while to get adjusted to that kind of thinking. After yesterday's game both me and Sara agreed that .. well, maybe, after all City isn't such a crappy game as we have thought for so long. The session was actually quite fun Smiley

In the end I won by 5 points: 103 - 98. It was also the first time anyone of us reached over 100 points.

I guess this means we'll play it more from now on!

Edit: typos  :Smiley

Hey Tobias, yeah you had better hope she doesnt come on here, specially as you mentioned an ex-girlfriend  Grin Grin

Good to hear that you enjoyed the game though, and it was interesting to hear someones view on it as I have been thinking about this game as an alternative.

Naturally, she passed my chair as I read your reply so now she knows :P

The ex girlfriend thing isn't a problem, they both know eachother well - besides Sara isn't my girlfriend really .. *cough* Wink

Anyway - We'll play it more often now and I have to give credit to the guy who can take a concept, change it slightly and get a totally new game!
