ok... can't find the rules to this one....

tower is 3 pieces tall...  we both bounced each other from the farm.  now there are NO meeple on the farm.  I place my meeple on top of the tower to finish the tower and protect surrounding land (planning to put a meeple back on the farm)... opponent picks a piece with time portal, and then places HIS meeple on a tile within striking distance of my tower, claiming the surrounding farm.  If i OWN that tower, is he automatically captured??  or, if he places his meeple on a diagonal tile, then my 3 high tower can't get him?  i think he can't place his meeple in the farm my tower rules... but he feels that the time portal allows him to place it anywhere.   Additionally, because the farm is surrounded already, and i have finished that tower, there's no way for me to bump him off again... which means there's not much advantage to finishing a tower, since someone with a time portal could easily enter a farm or city, etc. that you have built.

help...

Welcome to the forums!

Your friend is correct, I'm afraid. You can only remove a follower from the tiles adjacent to a tower at the moment you place a block on the tower, and you can only remove one. If there are other followers 'within range' they stay where they are. A follower can also be placed withing range by a portal, living in constant fear that someone will place another block on the tower.

The point of closing a tower is just to protect any followers you have within its range. They can still be captured by another tower, as can the follower on top of the tower itself. So, if you friend has used a portal to get a follower onto a farm in range of the first tower, you'll need to use another tower to take your follower off the top of the first tower, then place a block on it to capture your friend's follower.

Hope that helps. I haven't had any coffee yet, so apologies if I missed your point…

LOL!  that was a great explanation from someone who hasn't had coffee yet... thanks so much!  this is the first time i've used the tower expansion...  and only the second time i've used the princess/dragon/portal expansion, so we're still learning the rules.

thank-you!

No problem. Trying out two new expansions at once can be a bit much, it's true.

Since I wrote I've managed to down one coffee. Time to make #2. :Smiley
