When a farm is connected to a barn thru the placement of a tile it is scored immediately, so that means just after the tile is placed? (so before the dragon can move around..)

When a farm is scored because a barn is placed on it, it is also scored immediately (so also before the dragon can move around..)

Just wanted to be sure, because this quite a change compared to the other scoring which after the dragon moves around  Cool

Good question! I have always interpreted this to mean that the farm is scored, "immediately - in the scoring phase of this turn", rather than, "later - at the end of the game". In that case the dragon can eat a farmer before scoring, which is rather like very other way in which the dragon works.

But when I read the rules it just says, "immediately" and could be interpreted to mean as soon as the tile is is placed (and therefore before deployment and before the dragon moves.

This interpretation would be very much out of the spirit of the way the rest of the game works (Tile, deploy, (maybe dragon) and then score), but the rules do say immediately.

This might be a good question to put to HiG.

exactly "immediately" could be understood like "in this turn, but at the usual place" (so after deploying a meeple, and after moving the dragon" or...  indeed immediately!

I have made the same interpretation as dwhitworth, although there would be better ways to emphasize that farms can be scored before the final scoring at the end of the game.

This situation is potentially further complicated by the HiG vs. RGG rules. According to RGG, dragon movement occurs after scoring, but according to HiG it occurs before scoring (immediately after placing the tile, the game is interrupted while the dragon moves). I'm paraphrasing from the CAR, but not changing very many words here.

The rules for A&M also say that when farms are connected and one has a barn, the farmers are scored immediately. One of these immediately's needs to come first. I would tend to think that since the game is interrupted while the dragon moves, that would also mean interrupting the immediately of the farmer scoring, so farmers could potentially be eaten.

I think this is worth asking HiG about, and so I'm putting a special word at the bottom of my post that is unlikely to be used in other posts. This trigger word can be used to search for questions for HiG when it comes time for the next list. When a list is sent out, I'll either edit my posts to remove the word or pick a new trigger word.

The trigger word is:
