Although i don't own any to verify the size, that box reminds me of an old photographic slide holder that a friend used to have, I wonder if tiles are similarly sized and would fit nicely in such a container?

Richardbrand: nice find!

Thanks :-)

It was going to be built into Microsoft Office 2007, but legal bickering between Microsoft and Adobe put an end to that...

I like the slide case idea. I think my Dad might have some of those boxes around - I'll have a look.

I don't know if this is old news, but it was news to me.  I emailed the folks over at catanbox (makers of carcassonne box) and asked about the possibility of shipping to USA.  Here is their reply:

"I can send it but it is at your own risk. The damaging during transport will not be our responsibility. The costs will be around 25 euro for shipping only.

Also we are working with Mayfair to try and get them in the USA as well by the end off the year.(Bold mine)

If this is true then this will definitely be my solution.

I suspect the same goes for Canada. I'd much rather buy one of these than attempt to make my own.

I notice that the site also says there is room for a further 70 cards. Not sure about extra pieces though. Looks good. I've emailed for a UK P+P price.
