Hi Everyone,

I was wondering which base Carc game has the smallest final footprint? I am a huge fan of Carcassonne and have the original and many of the expansions, and I intend to continue adding to that collection. I, however, need to find a different version that can be played on a fairly small table, and only needs to accommodate two. I have been looking into Carcassonne: The Castle and think it might be what I am looking for, but want the advice of the experts. Also, if anyone knows or would be willing to measure for me what that final footprint is (The Castle that is) it would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.  Grin

The assembled frame for the Castle is 19.5" x 25" overall.

Travel Carcassonne would also have a small footprint.

Thank you so much, that is a huge help! I looked all over online but couldn't find those dimensions.

I think that City would actually be the smallest since you will try your best to build it compact. Travel C might be smaller still though.

Thanks Tobias,
I appreciate the input. I still haven't come to any conclusion yet, but I know there are some good options. If only my budget wasn't an issue I would buy them all!  Grin

Shameless self-plug, but one of my goals in creating the Pirate Coast expansion was to encourage compact play by setting up a shoreline along 1-2 edges of the table. It features a few new mechanics, but you could also easily use the coast as a river-esque starting position. Most of my games with the expansion have been fairly compact. Maybe you'll find it helpful!

If you're keen to try it but don't like all the non-base game tiles just let me know and I'll make you up a version using only cities, roads and cloisters.
