It sounds like the teacher scoring occurs on the very next feature to be scored, in which case I plan to complete the smallest feature possible when somebody else gets the teacher. Grin

Yes, exactly my point. Only the road you choose is a school road so you can get the teacher right away with the same play. But then the next guy does the same thing and before you know it the school roads are closed fairly quickly. At the start of the game there are not many other tiles to play on.

It's a novel expansion and I understand the cause behind it - but it is fairly thin. (IMHO)

Nonetheless - I must have it!!  Bang head

New photos including rules scans (in German) on the Geek.  Check it out HERE.  Unfortunately, the teacher meeple appears to not be unique.  It is simply one of the translucent meeples inserted randomly from what I understand.  I suppose would be simple to paint the unique figure it deserves.

I don't mind the simplicity of the expansion.  With the mulititude that there are, simple is best at this point and I think it might prove harder than you think to close the roads.  It all depends on the draw.

Probably wrong spot to post this but since there has been talk of rules for "The School" I figured I would role with it.  So do the Eastern, Southeastern and Southern roads from the school score two points for each road since there is a lake on them?  My guess this falls in the same realm as the Pig Herd from GQ, but it was a pig herd and that is a big lake on the roads around that school.  IMHO Wink

I think there has to be an inn on the lake for it to count.

I would agree. The rules call it an Inn on the Lake. So just any body of water will not do.

Sorry for the oversight Shocked  I did forget about the Inn aspect as I am use to just looking for the lake on the tile.

Does this school have a dormatory(ies)? If so that is akin to an inn. Wink

This is the direct translation from Google Translate:

Carcassonne The School

Material: 1 teacher-figure (in a random color, color of the teacher belongs to no player)
Game preparation: The players put the two new maps on the left or right at the start card, so that the school fits together. The teacher is placed on the school grounds.

Gameplay
The rules of Carcassonne remain the same! The player has one or more roads that lead to the school, culminating sustaining, according to the rating of the teacher. He takes them out of school and puts it in front of him. In the next age group receive the player, as he has before him the teacher, also the whole point. If he gets even offer the points standings, he receives it with the teacher twice. Subsequently, he is the teacher again back on the school grounds.

So...if that helps...

Personally, I'm confused on how this works...

Here's my translation:

Quote
Carcassonne – The school

Components :
-   1 teacher meeple (in a random colour and  doesn’t
count as a particular player colour)
-   2 landtiles ‘the school’

Game preparations:
The 2 tiles are placed side by side next to the regular starting
tile. Placing them school tiles left or right to the starting tile is
optional. The school tiles however should fit together.

Gameplay:

The rules of Carcassonne remain the same.
The player, who completes one or more roads leading to the
school, scores the street and obtains the teacher meeple.
The player takes the teacher meeple from the school and puts
it in front of him. As soon as the next feature is completed and
scored, the player with the teacher scores the same amount
of points.  In case the player with the teacher is also the
player who completes the feature, he will score twice the
amount of points. After scoring with the teacher, the teacher
meeple has to be returned to the school.
When all 6 roads are completed, the teacher won't leave the
school anymore.

Otherwise, you can go on eBay and spend a small fortune for it...
