According to a wiki history there was a prince of england around the middle ages who invaded france and fought over Carcassonne and I think eventually burnt its outling city, anyway I built a strip of tiles into a starting tile and prettymuch play "A New World" with the two "Black Prince" Armies (Mega Meeple and Mayor of a neutral colour") Massacreing their way through Carcassonne.

Already covered that idea: Carcassonne: The Reconquest of Gaul. Same concept, set about seven hundred years earlier.
