So my wife and I played a Carc game last night with the Bazaar expansion and came upon an interesting situation.  Here goes:

1) I draw and place a bazaar tile (which expands a city which contains my builder).
2) I draw and place another tile for my extra builder turn (Bazaar is on hold for the moment).
3) I draw 2 tiles for the auction (2 players)
4) My wife chooses the first tile then I choose the second tile (we play the simple rules, no bidding).
5) My wife plays her tile on a city with her builder.
6) My wife pulls and places another tile for her builder turn.
7) I place my tile (the one from the bazaar).

Does this sound right?  This could get complicated if we have more players with builders etc.

My assumption would be that you'd have to satisfy the bazaar round before you take your second tile for the builder.

I second that motion.

My interpretation is as follows:

1. You place a Bazaar tile that connects to your builder.
2. Start the Bazaar auction, which I see as the "Bazaar's turn". Because it was your turn before the Bazaar's turn, you're in charge of the Bazaar.  Since you don't start another Bazaar turn during the Bazaar phase, I'd apply the same rule toward the builder.  So the wife would not get her extra builder turn for playing her Bazaar tile there.
3. After the Bazaar turn, then you can place your a 2nd tile for your builder.
4. If your 2nd tile was a Bazaar tile, start another auction.  Since it's still you're turn, you're in charge of the extra Bazaar turn.

Gotcha.

Since you don't start another Bazaar turn during the Bazaar phase, I'd apply the same rule toward the builder.  So the wife would not get her extra builder turn for playing her Bazaar tile there.

Hrmmm... So just to be clear, no "builder effects" (i.e. no extra tile draw) during the bazaar turn?

Right, that's the way I look at it. The bazaar turn doesn't include starting new auctions or triggering the builder.
