Looks like they're pre-engraved... no thanks.

I can recommend my own Pewter Meeples Grin
See http://carcassonnecentral.com/forum/index.php?topic=1199.0

Last year I switched from moulding sand to two-sided silicone moulds, they work very well. Unfortunately I had some issues with a new batch of Pewter back then, if I have time I'll look into it some time soon.

Until then:

I would love to see the moulds.  I've been considering making some metal meeples.  Maybe even the process that you used? Smiley

Hi, I will make some pictures this weekend. Basically, I made the moulds using two components - silicones and some other chemical that cures the mix. When using your mould, you have to brush it with talc powder or graphite powder, otherwise your product will end up like this:

By the way, when creating the mould you have to consider the channels for the pewter itself, and for the air to escape from the mould. When using the mould, these channels will be filled with pewter eventually, you can just cut them off after the pewter solidifies. I'll make sure to make pictures of the entire process.

Some time ago I made a video about casting pewter in moulding sand, however it's quite long-winded, and more important, it is in Dutch. Nevertheless, here is the link:

[Edit]
I've been wondering how to actually pronounce the word "Pewter", anyone?

Thanks McJazz, so it's just like you pronounce "few" Smiley

JoshGambit, I posted a little description of the casting process in the original topic:
