Hi,

My River 1 rules clearly state that you can "play followers on these tiles as in the normal game" - it adds "Do not place followers on the river" - we have always played that this means you can place farmers, thiefs, monks, knights in exactly the same way as for normal tiles - you just don't physically put them in the "blue" river part of the tiles - not sure why you would do this anyway!

It would seem pretty silly if you could not place meeples on these tiles - apart from lookig pretty there would be no point in using them.

Apart from looking preety the river does a lot to mess up farming, shortens some roads and sometimes constrains a city's growth.

i think the original intent of the rules was just to make it clear that meeples don't go on the water part of the river itself, which more or less makes sense

Sorry about the late post entry, but now you can use the FISHERMAN fan-made expansion to make meeples swim.  Grin
