Chances are you can't. I have the Collectors Box version. Vista let me install the main game but wouldn't agree to Hunters and Gatherers.

Trouble is the Carcassonne PC games are not that new now and Vista will throw a wobbly just cos you hold yor finger at an odd angle to the keyboard.

I have Windows Vista and Carcassonne works fine on it. The trick is to install it to a 2nd drive: ie: not the C:\ drive. I have an external drive and am running it from there. It might be possible to buy a large enough pen drive and install and run it from there.

I can make a new players profile but when i quit the game and restart it .., the profile is gone  Huh?

I suspect it is something to do with the 'Users' folder that is now used on Vista. There may be a workaround for this problem but i'm not sure.

Have you tried XP compatibility mode? clicky

Also, there's a compatibility wizard you can use.  Go to Start, Control Panel, Programs, then under Programs & Features click on "Use an older program with this version of Windows".

If you are using "Classic View", it doesn't appear, turn off control panel's Classic view to see it.

Where/How can I get this computer version of Carcassone? I thought there were only browser-based versions and the Xbox one.

Unfortunately this game has been discontinued. Sometimes the game appears on eBay, particularly on a European search. You can still get a demo version, but it only gives you limited time:
