Go to www.carcassonnecentral.com , klick on 'Downloads' and then klick on 'Fan-Made customs'.

Or just klick http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=49&Itemid=62  Grin

So in order to own one you must be able to make them your self?

It seems as though it would be very difficult to make tiles that look and feel enough like to others to not be picked out by eye or in the bag by touch, or perhaps I'm missing something

The easiest way to do this, and probably the most popular method used by people here, is to print out the tiles on sticker paper and cut them out and stick them on to existing tiles (ones you have doubles of or don't plan to use).  This is a very effective method.  Nearly impossible to detect just by feel.

That's the technique I'm using to make custom tiles. I actually bought a cheap base set on eBay to re-use. Cost about €5 including shipping. And I still have a misprinted copy of the Wheel tiles left, which were replaced by HiG. (Thanks for the great service  Cool )

Is the sticker sheet everybody uses just one big sticker, paper size?  So you just print and cut?  If so, where's the cheapest place to get those?

You are correct.  I got mine at Staples a while ago so I don't remember how much it cost.  It was a ream of 20 sheets and I think it was about $7.  Not sure.

Best way to get a crisp image on blanks is to purchase a printer that loads flat sheets.
