So I finally am caught up with my Carcassonne expansions again after having to buy the 10th Anniversary Edition as a door prize at my wedding just to obtain the 10 stupid tiles that are unique to that release. I really hope HiG doesn't attempt that scam again because I am really not impressed with that version of the game. Anyway, I also bought The Phantom last week. Still haven't played either. I've heard the Phantom plays very well. Any reports on the Celebration? Was it worth my troubles (not that I would have avoided it or anything).

I actually like the celebration. My wife is a great tactical player when it comes to Carcassonne and quite often my Meeples get stranded, The celebration tiles let me bring the boys back home, safely. Smiley

We played our first game with The Festival (the name on our box) on the weekend.  It was a two player game, and no circumstance arrived to lead us to want to pull back a meeple from the board using that mechanic.  However, it was fun to play a game with the very crisp new tiles.

We've played it three times now.  I have kept it seperate from my other tiles, so we play it as a stand alone but use the wooden meeples.  We also used the Phantom Meeples with each game too.  At least one of the players pulled a meeple back at least once per game.  We'll do that to each other though, trap meeples, so the festival tiles kind of work out for us.

We've all come to love the Phantom Meeples; I think they will be mandatory each game now...lol...
