The Merchant of Carcassonne

Similar to the idea of huts in Hunters & Gatherers, this variant focuses on giving added bonus to systems of connected roads.  Using the hut from H&G, you can place this on a road segment or on a junction (three-way intersection, four-way intersection, or city intersection).

Points are scored at the end of the game (or when a system is completely closed).

1 pt for each "bush" crossing
2 pts for each three-way crossing with houses
3 pts for each four-way crossing with houses
4 pts for each city intersection

Followers can be placed on road sections as normal (for all players) and scored as normal.  However, no new huts may be added to a road system.

What are everyone's thoughts?

Those who, like me, aren't familiar with H&G will probably want to browse the rules:

I like this idea. Would players have just one hut, or two as in H&G?

My wife and I play with two houses.  However, we incorporated the Trading Post variant, so you can use the other house for that, too.  Adds a bit of strategy, I suppose.
