Some in our group don't like some seemingly random way to start, so on whim we came up with a new idea.

Each player draws 4 tiles.  Then, using those 4 tiles and a maximum of 2 meeples, they must score the most points.  The player with the most starts the game and we go clockwise from there.

Just thought I'd share.

That seems slightly random considering the four tiles are drawn randomly.

Not a bad idea for a really really mini-game of Carc!  As Scott mentioned, that too is somewhat random, or at worst disfavors the player who makes what must be a truly magnificent error with only 4 tiles!

Players who make errors are good opponents!  Wink
