Here's a link to the press release as posted on BGG:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/1434974

I guess this one line says it all:
Games Quarterly Magazine's publication has ceased.

That stinks. I guess our group will have to resort to other means of getting our hands on The Cathars.

Maybe next time there's a release in Germany I can place a bulk order or something... But that's no help right now.  Sad

This does stink. And with the prices on Ebay etc. being high-way robbery I guess I'll go without this for a while still.

Bleh.

A local game store here still has a couple of copies of GQ with the Carc 12 piece expansion in it.  Maybe I should buy them - (in fact I should get at least one as I don't have that expansion yet) - the extra set may be worth big money in the future and I could sell it on ebay as well!

[As an aside, I think NZ is one of the only countries where ebay isn't prevalent - we had a smart young guy here who set up his own auction website (called "Trademe") before ebay got a foothold - he built it up and it became so popular that a big media corporation bought it a year or so ago for NZ$700 million!! (about US$500 million)]

Just sent a third email to GQ, have fired one each week for three weeks, and always get the same out of office response. So I think it would be fair to say they are out of business  Sad

There is a post on Board Game Geek which I think says that another magazine "Knucklebones" is honouring GQ subscriptions.  Might be of some assistance to those who had subscribed to GQ - by all accounts it is a better magazine.
