Title: Collaborative Expansion of the Month (for Aug 2009, voting takes place in July) Post by: Novelty on June 26, 2009, 11:21:28 am Each month , as a group, we will concentrate our focus on developing one of the "archived" expansions to get it to "completed". Archived expansions are those where ideas have been proposed, but little or no work has been done to get it to "completed" (i.e. Public Downloads status. I propose that as a team/group, we work through the issues and come to consensus about the final idea and then someone or someones (volunteers, hopefully) will create the tiles and the rules to get it ready for download.
Also, during each month, we will also vote on the next expansion that we would like to concentrate on the following month. One thing about these collaborative expansions is that, though it is a good idea to try and get people involved and get them working together, it could potentially end up as making these expansions once a month, simply for the sake of making them, instead of thinking carefully and developing ideas, and that we could end up going the way HiG went, that lead them to the catapult... However, I don't see why we can't develop the idea *before* the collaborative expansion is made (similar to Hog Roast?) while voting for it. There's a thread for all the expansions that's being voted on (and it's currently also linked in the list above), so if you have a suggestion, then perhaps it might be better to make it before the expansion becomes the collaborative expansion of the month so that whoever that's actually working on the tiles and rules would be able to incorporate your suggestions for that month. In other words, be proactive, not reactive :) Remember, the expansions has been placed on this list because the ideas were originally suggested at least 2 months ago (usually from the development archieve) so there should have been plenty of time for anyone to critically think about them and develop them. While making suggestions *after* the rules are out isn't a bad thing, it may be by then a bit too late as things are more or less fixed (on paper at least).Anyways, vote count: "King" = 1 vote LotR = 1 vote Remember, anyone that has already voted can change their vote anytime voting is still going on (so feel free to lobby others over PM to change their vote for your choice!).
