Title: Shooting Pigs and Builders
Post by: Sade on May 20, 2009, 08:31:48 am
I have tried to find answers to this question everywhere, but I didn't find anything.

When you shoot a K.O. or Seduction "bullet" with the Catapult, and it lands on (or next to, in case of Seduction) a Pig or Builder, can I take them out of the game? I suppose that neither Barn, Dragon, Fairy, Mayor nor Wagon can be affected in any way with the Catapult, right?

The rules say "follower" so...

Pig and builder - no, as they are not followers
Barn - no, as it's not a follower
Dragon and Fairy - no, as those are not followers
Mayor and Wagon - yes, as these are followers

CAR page 49, footnote 151... "The barn is a special figure, although it can also be counted as a follower."
This is more than a little confusing and a bit contradictory.  I discovered this in a recent game.  Wouldn't our lives all be easier if everything (builder, pig, barn) was a follower?  I forgot about this thread when I posted my question in the CAR thread.

Our lives would certainly be a lot easier if we had never added a single expansion to our plain vanilla original "Walden" version of Carcassonne ... but it wouldn't as much FUN!
