Title: Are you really mad about Carcassonne? Post by: Kanomike on March 10, 2009, 05:32:48 am I have recently obtained a new copy of Inns and Cathedrals and found that all the tiles have a meeple mark on them to distinguish them from other sets (great for separating all the tiles at the end of a game). This got me thinking a little about all the different sets I have now accumlated and the fact that they do change slightly from re-print to re-print, even if they are fundementally the same.
What do you all do for collecting; do you get the basic tile set and not buy repeats or do you try and buy everything? Mike Title: Re: Are you really mad about Carcassonne? Post by: Scott on March 11, 2009, 12:42:11 am I've been trying to avoid repeats, though I ended up with two copies of Heretics: one from the Spielbox Almanac and one from CS&C. Part of me would like to have a new set of watermarked tiles, but if I would do it I would prefer to do it as economically as possible.

Title: Re: Are you really mad about Carcassonne? Post by: hester on March 11, 2009, 03:54:39 am I only get what I need for playing, I don't collect games "just for collecting's sake". There are enough other things I collect that already take up far too much space. ::)
Title: Re: Are you really mad about Carcassonne? Post by: meepleater on March 11, 2009, 04:11:55 am I'm not going to collect all versions, e.g. I'm happy with just seige instead of Cathers, but I probably will get C,K&C just for the watermarks even though I have all the individual expansions (which means I can use the old ones for fan-made expansions!)
Title: Re: Are you really mad about Carcassonne? Post by: Whaleyland on March 11, 2009, 06:15:54 am I really want Katharer, but other than that, I bought the original Big Box with all its watermarked tiles (except the River I...ARGH!) and since then have bought A&M, Catapult, and KC&C (which all have watermarks). I bought all the stand-alone mini-expansions, but gave them to my brother-in-law for Christmas after I bought KC&C. Thus far, the only expansions I have without watermarks are River I, CS&C, and GQ11. If they re-released any of those with watermarks, I would buy them, but other than that, I am very content with my editions. I can't imagine what I would do without those watermarks, though. Separating the expansions out after each game would drive me insane! As it is, it is sometimes really hard to do it.
