Title: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: Purity on January 15, 2009, 11:28:42 am Hello,
today I've received a request from 'Hans im Glück'. They kindly asked me to inform you about the fact, that due to the massiv amount of big orders of blank tiles in the last couple of weeks, they have to persist again on a maximum of 5 sheets per order as stated on their homepage. They would appreciate it, if you might keep this in mind, as the production of blank tiles is just a service and not part of their main business. Sorry for that, I hope you understand this and respect their request. Greetings. PS: perhaps this could be a 'sticky' for the next days/weeks Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: Lakoda on January 15, 2009, 11:38:19 am It would strike me, from a business standpoint, that having to enforce such a rule invariably supplies the reasoning to go into the business of producing said blank tiles. But, such is life so we shall restrict our orders. :o

Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: koolkat on January 15, 2009, 05:49:28 pm That's because the blank tiles land at the right place... ;D
Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: Novelty on January 15, 2009, 06:33:14 pm And the blank tiles are the most useful tiles :)
I wonder besides koolkat, who else is getting a large quantity of tiles... Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: koolkat on January 15, 2009, 07:05:43 pm Perhaps the members who asked me what I did. But I warned them...
Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: Whaleyland on January 15, 2009, 09:06:42 pm I got the message too. My girlfriend promptly followed with: "Why don't you just print the tiles as before and save up for another game." To which I replied with a resounding: "Humph!" The fact that I don't have many Euros lying around, however, may keep me away from more than perhaps 60 of these tiles, anyway. But to think, abandoning awesome custom Carc tiles for a different game...well I never. Although maybe I should get around to playing my new copy of Agricola...I hear it is quite addicting once played.

This of course only confirms my choice of name for my D rider in my next game of Breaking Away... ::)Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: Novelty on January 17, 2009, 07:26:15 am They kindly asked me to inform you about the fact, I'm curious. How do they know you can inform us?Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: Scott on January 17, 2009, 10:27:28 am They are watching us? :o
It makes sense to limit the order quantities. They can only produce so many at a time, and they are only able to keep a certain level of stock on hand. If one person orders most of the stock, that's not fair to others who also want to order some. Five sheets per order means blank tiles for everyone instead of just a few people. They probably should limit you guys on how often you're allowed to order too... Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: sajaanid on March 03, 2009, 08:21:19 am hey, but where could these blank tiles be ordered from? or where can one order them from?
Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: wellidesigns on March 03, 2009, 03:12:06 pm I just wanted to order new tiles today
guess I'll have to limit my order to 60 tiles... Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: CKorfmann on March 28, 2009, 10:57:14 pm So when you order these tiles, do they have backs on them or are they completely blank? How much do 5 sheets cost?
Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: Novelty on March 29, 2009, 01:42:59 am They have backs on them, but HiG will only send them to European addresses. 5 sheets costs 5 euros.
Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: Johngee on May 05, 2009, 07:27:15 pm Have the BLANK TILES shown up on eBay yet, where a true blooded American Capitalist can pay US Dollars to a European Seller and have them delivered anywhere in the world?
Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: Novelty on May 05, 2009, 07:45:25 pm The thing is that HiG gives out so few that it's probably not realistic to sell them on ebay.
Besides, you can get the tiles cheaper (although those aren't blank) from your local game store (especially when you factor in shipping from Europe). I can't find anything about how to order the 5 sheets; whats the address etc? Thanks.
Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: CKorfmann on February 15, 2011, 11:40:36 am I don't think this is available anymore. I've made the thread unsticky. Let me know if it needs to get sticky again.
Title: Re: Message from 'Hans im Glück' concerning blank tiles Post by: Captain Pedantic on February 11, 2012, 02:47:08 pm A month ago when I ordered blank tiles, I was limited to only 5 sheet. Yesterday when I went to look at getting more I saw it is now limited to 10 sheets per order.
Frieght to New Zealand is good as long as I order less than 10euros worth at a time. |
