Title: New World: Rules regarding Plains Boundaries
Post by: kbullkar on December 30, 2008, 10:50:26 am
Searched, didn't see this, hope it isn't a repeat... some tiles are very similar... for instance "H" & "I" (both CRPR), but in "H" the City comes much closer to the road - almost touching it, but not. It looks like there is either a tower or a city-gate, but no road going to it. As it regards plains boundaries, ignoring other tiles for the moment, does the city and road create a plains boundary such that "H" could have up to 3 plains on it while "I" can only have up to two plains on it? (I am using the tile letters on the tile distribution page included with the game).

Thanks!

Keith

Keith

I dont have my set to hand at the moment but I think that the road does not touch so it does not intersect and therefore allows for greater hunting opportunities, well thats how I have always played it. When I get my set back from my mate I will double check what you mean and respond again.

Cheers and welcome to the forum.

Looking at the images in the rule book online, I would say that unless the road actually goes into the city (and only tile AN does this), then the fields (or plains, as the game calls them) are not blocked. They are effectively exactly the same tile, except that they probably felt like just one design was boring.
