For young children, getting them to play Carc might be slightly more enjoyable if they could play using recognizable elements, such as Shrek characters. You could use these tiles along with any of the simplified Carc-for-children rules available in the Variant registry or elsewhere. Some ideas:
There should be no copyright issues if it is for personal use, but of course Dreamworks may disagree. A city could be a village (knight=peasant), fields could be forests (farmer=elf), roads could be... roads (thief=ranger), cloisters could be... special places... (minas tirith, rivendell etc.) Traders and Builders would work, The Tower would be nice except it could be called Amun Sul... heh heh heh heh I suppose this is a bit off-topic isn't it?
