Title: Blank tiles Post by: koolkat on December 11, 2008, 10:57:45 am Finally I ordered lots of blank tiles to make some of the fan-made expansions. For the time being I ordered 240 (yes, two hundred and forty) blank tiles from HiG for 20€ (free P&P). After having some tiles made, I'll post some pics here, if admins don't mind. I'll go for the forest and the fishermen first...
Title: Re: Blank tiles Post by: wicke on December 11, 2008, 11:34:30 am Can you send me all the contact info (email and such) with HiG.
I want to order some blank tiles as well. I have used all my 21 spare tiles to make custom tiles already and need some more. Don't want to buy extra expansions just to make custom tiles. Use me email address if you don't wish to post all that info here. Thanks .../Patrik Title: Re: Blank tiles Post by: Whaleyland on December 11, 2008, 11:43:51 am Does anyone know if HiG sends to the United Kingdom? I tried to contact them and got no reply but Rio Grande says that they don't print blanks like HiG.

Title: Re: Blank tiles Post by: koolkat on December 19, 2008, 12:37:05 pm Well, this has been a wonderful Carc week. On Monday I received the white and orange full set of meeples. On Wednesday, I got the CS&C expansion. On Thursday I finally got my 240 (yes, two hundred and forty) blank tiles from HiG. I think this will be my best Christmas gift!... :) I started to make the forest fan-made expansion starting with the base tiles (the ones without other expansions elements). It's easy to make tiles and it's great to see the final result. So I decided to post a pic here of a little forest.

Title: Re: Blank tiles Post by: koolkat on December 19, 2008, 12:50:02 pm Yes. Isn't that great? There's only a little misplacing on the road edges... But that's alright. Initially I didn't know where to print the tiles. I printed them on normal paper and, as you can see they are great. Sorry the pic is not too clear but it was taken with the mobile, close to the object. I'll post something when I play with the forest to tell you how it went.
Title: Re: Blank tiles Post by: koolkat on December 19, 2008, 12:54:18 pm Someone told me that HiG could only send 5x12 tiles on each order, but I got 20x12 tiles without any message from HiG. P&P free!!!. And I also got the HiG newspaper for free. Pity it's in german...

Title: Re: Blank tiles Post by: koolkat on December 20, 2008, 03:20:08 pm I just did some more forest tiles with cities. Here's how it came up. Really nice. I propose a little game. Which tile is wrong placed?

Do you have an inkjet or laser printer? Title: Re: Blank tiles Post by: scotty13 on December 21, 2008, 08:10:48 pm bottom row, 3rd from left
Title: Re: Blank tiles Post by: Novelty on December 21, 2008, 08:15:37 pm koolkat, could you show us some with tiles from the base Carcassonne expansion mixed in, please? I'd like to see how they go with "normal" tiles. Thanks.
Title: Re: Blank tiles Post by: Gantry on December 21, 2008, 09:09:40 pm bottom row, 4th from left
Title: Re: Blank tiles Post by: Novelty on December 21, 2008, 09:52:53 pm I think that one is correct Gantry, it's the one next to it (i.e. 3rd from left as mentioned by Scotty13) that is in error.
Title: Re: Blank tiles Post by: mathguy89 on December 22, 2008, 01:02:12 am Also top row - 2nd from right is in error. Road goes into the middle of farmland.

Technically speaking, you don't know which of the two was placed first, so they could both be in error assuming mine was placed second. Novelty: Yes, I will insert some original tiles. All of you: You're right. Both tiles are incorrect. I guess I'm a bad woodsman... ;) |
