Title: Delete help Post by: koolkat on November 20, 2008, 02:35:28 pm Sorry guys. This question may seem a little dumb, but... how do we erase posts. I see no delete button!...
Title: Re: Delete help Post by: Tobias on November 20, 2008, 05:03:48 pm Sorry guys. This question may seem a little dumb, but... how do we erase posts. I see no delete button!... You could always send a PM to one of the moderators - and we will decide if the post(s) in question will be deleted. Title: Re: Delete help Post by: Novelty on November 20, 2008, 06:22:03 pm You can only delete your own posts (but if you started the thread, deleting that post will delete the thread).
On your post, look to the top right corner of the post. You will see "Quote, Modify, Remove". Clicking on "Remove" deletes the post. Title: Re: Delete help Post by: koolkat on November 20, 2008, 06:37:09 pm Thanks, Novelty, but I can't see the "REMOVE" anywhere...
Title: Re: Delete help Post by: Novelty on November 20, 2008, 07:25:01 pm Oh, sorry then. I guess only Authors can remove their own posts. You will have to PM a mod to ask them to remove it (or use the "Report to moderator" link at the bottom of the post)
Title: Re: Delete help Post by: koolkat on November 21, 2008, 05:48:56 am OK. I'll do that soon. I don't like to see this forum untidy... ;)
Title: Re: Delete help Post by: canada steve on November 22, 2008, 08:22:37 am I dont think that the "remove" option is solely for Authors. I will doule check with Gantry or Matt for clarification if any of you should or shouldnt have it as an option.
Title: Re: Delete help Post by: koolkat on November 22, 2008, 08:25:21 am Thanks. I (we) would apretiate that.
Title: Re: Delete help Post by: Novelty on November 22, 2008, 08:26:05 am Thanks for checking Steve. Perhaps it's a default setting of the software that non-Authors don't get the "remove" option and Gantry didn't realise that it was so because he's not an ordinary user. Matt might be able to rectify it as well, but I think he'll wait for Gantry's answer as well.

Title: Re: Delete help Post by: koolkat on November 23, 2008, 01:37:25 pm That's logical but somewhat unefficient.
Title: Re: Delete help Post by: Gantry on December 02, 2008, 06:01:02 pm Hi folks! Sorry for the long delay. Yes, I decided to prevent people from deleting posts back when the site started. At the time, it wasn't an issue. You can of course edit the post and remove the content if need be. I just didn't want people to be removing stuff willy nilly.
Anyhow, you can PM a moderator or myself and we can remove a post if you like. cheers Title: Re: Delete help Post by: koolkat on December 02, 2008, 06:43:24 pm I can't remove the content. This forum doesn't seem to like the void.
Title: Re: Delete help Post by: Gantry on December 02, 2008, 07:15:18 pm Okay, I will review the forum permissions. What forum is your post in?
Title: Re: Delete help Post by: Novelty on December 03, 2008, 01:05:32 am Just type in "Content removed" or a period "." to blank a post. It usually works.
