Title: Best place to play online?
Post by: Robmonster on November 16, 2008, 02:05:06 pm
Evening all,

I've recently discovered the game Carcasonne, having played with my friends last night.
I play Settlers Of Catan, and also use the sea3d program to play online.

Are there places to play Carcasonne online from a PC?

Rob

Yes. Try this one for instance: games.asobrain.com .
Remark: The game isn't named Carcassonne, but you'll find it easily. There's even a ranking feature.

Have a look through the following thread:

To download a guide to BSW:

The asobrain site is a good implementation but uses the old rules and not the official rules.

If you want to pay for a slow game (i.e. by email), you can try http://www.fwtwr.com/fwtwr/carcassonne/index.asp

For those that are interested, Asobrain is back online.  Just discovered that today.  Not sure how long it was down.  If only they'd add more expansions...

Asobrain is not accepting new members. Seems like a pretty petty reason, too.

If anyone would like to play over the iPhone, I'd be willing to lose badly to you accept your challenge.

What was the reason?

You know, it wasn't really petty at all. They're totally within their rights to restrict access to their site. I was just irritated that I couldn't register.

Here's the scoop. (http://games.asobrain.com/pages/news.php?newsID=33)

That's a bummer, but I can imagine it's tough dealing with people especially when they are anonymous.  Dealing with crabby people face to face is hard enough.
