Title: Meeple printing Post by: Scott on October 31, 2008, 01:56:35 pm Catching up on my RSS feed reading and came across an interesting company that allows you to design 3D objects, and then have them printed and sent to you in 10 days.
http://www.shapeways.com/ (http://www.shapeways.com/) To get an idea of how 3D printing works, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQoTro9WfbQ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQoTro9WfbQ) The applications of this technology vary widely, but one idea that came to mind was producing meeples. It's more expensive than buying wooden meeples on-line, so you would need to have some special need. Perhaps a new shape of meeple that isn't available? Or you want a semi-transparent meeple... The only thing one would not want to do would be to make Carc-related stuff that is copyrighted, and sell them for a profit.
