I will use this thread as the list of items to be added to the Variant Registry instead of trying to keep up with whats what, thanks Nov!

And what's wrong with that? ;D He made ours easy by hosting this place. {wv  This is the least we can do for him.

I just remembered, there's a bunch of stuff on Joff's web site:
http://www.carcassonneworld.co.uk/ (http://www.carcassonneworld.co.uk/)

Some of it is just repackaged without modifications, while others are slightly updated. Are we going to leave it as a separate site, or are the PDFs going to be hosted and linked on CarcCentral?

I'll wait for Joff to comment about which ones of them I can move here.  Meanwhile, wellidesigns has said the lavender fields are done, so they are here.

Gantry: You might want to sticky this too!

The ones that are on my website are free to host at CC, but none of them are made by users of CC... unless they are lurking in the shadows and have not told us ;) (with the exception of Invasion of Catharism)

This is what is there at present:

Invasion of Catharism is mine (but that just needs hosting at CC, which is where I would prefer my work to be hosted)

As a sidenote: I do think that it's important that us CC members who are submitting their own variants/expansions have them actually hosted at CC.

Families is there (although this might conflict with Cleric and Serf?), updated by me but still needs a bit of work, I think! (from Frédéric Renaud's original)
Bishops and Dioceses has been updated by me (from Jonathan Brown's original)
Trading Posts has been updated by me (from Kevin Graham's original)
Carcassonne Prison has been updated by me (from Kevin Graham's original)
Tax Collector has been updated by me (from Kevin Graham's original)

Scott has submissions also on there, I'll leave it for him to comment on these:

Variations on the River is Scott's submission
More River (Mehrfluss) is also Scott's submission

I think we should rework the tiles in Families (the shields part) to something that's more viable.  The tiles by Frederic Renaud are too few and far between to make the red and yellow shield family viable.  That's the reason why I removed the non-shields part and the cloister token from Families to make Cleric and Serf.  That will ensure that Families can be remade completely for the red-and-yellow shields tiles with perhaps a number of new configurations.  Credit is to go to Fred of course.

Variations on the River is compiled by me. Not all the ideas were originally mine, but I think it's worth hosting here.

Mehrfluss is from the official Carc site, but never had a rule sheet before. We could host it here.

Updated expansions definitely need to be treated differently from CarcCentral original expansions.

A new set of Families tiles, including the more recent city configurations, sounds like a good idea. Good project for you next time you need a break from forests. ;)

Heh, well, that won't be after Green Dragon and Merry Men.  I guess that's the order of what I'm working on then...

Scott & Joff, if you can get the original owners of those expansions and variants to agree about hosting them here, and update the rules with the CC logo, then I'll add them to the list.  We should also check with Maulei if he'd mind if we host Fruit Traders here as well.

Well, Kevin Graham has given consent for his variants to be hosted here. Have not been able to contact Jonathan Brown regarding Bishops and Dioceses though :(
I will update with the CC logo and make Kevin aware.

Permission granted from Kevin Graham to brand 'his' redone variants/expansions with CC logo and web address. I will get onto updating these hopefully next week.

Kevin has given permission to rebrand:

Carcassonne Prison (http://www.john-warren.co.uk/carcassonne/files/carcassonneprison.zip)

Tax Collector (http://www.john-warren.co.uk/carcassonne/files/taxcollector.pdf)

Trading Posts (http://www.john-warren.co.uk/carcassonne/files/tradingposts.pdf)

Although I have not yet been able to contact Jonathan Brown, I have rebranded his expansion:

Bishops and Dioceses (http://www.john-warren.co.uk/carcassonne/files/bishopsanddioceses.pdf)

Added In the Stocks by Joff
Added Fruit Trader by Maulei
Added Prison, Tax Collector and Trading Post by Kevin Graham
Added Dirt Roads by wellidesigns

I'll leave Bishops and Dioceses off the list for the time being.  I will add it after we get the permission of the variant creator.

I think this will be a long time coming then. I have been trying to contact Jonathan for about 10 months now!

Well, 17 "releases" in 14 days.  I guess this will be the best record ever due to the fact that everyone is still fresh full of ideas, and a large number of those "releases" are actually repackaging other people's ideas :)  Even tile count is impressive - over 200 original tiles (excluding repackaged tiles)  I think everyone who contributed should be proud of this record.  I also think that almost everything on the list is better than Catapult!

Are these expansions for sale anywhere or, will I have to make the tiles for myself with the prints on the files?

you'll have to get a bit creative and make them yourself :-)

Carc staff: I couldn't access FRUIT TRADING expansion. The link is broken, I guess. Am I right?

Thanks, Novelty. Anyway I would like to tell these expansions authors and other contributors that I liked most of them and I'm gonna start making the tiles, tokens and the other stuff, 'cause I think I really am addicted to this game. I just bought some material to build things up. Way to go, guys!
